TURLOCK — The Cal State Stanislaus softball team pounded out 12 hits in the series finale, but stranded 11 runners as the Warriors lost 2-1 for their second one-run loss in the Saturday doubleheader. UC San Diego won game one 6-5.
UC San Diego won the series three games to one to improved to 14-2 overall and 7-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Cal State Stanislaus went 1-3 for the second straight CCAA series and fell to 6-8 overall and 2-6 in conference play.
In the second game on Saturday, the Warriors pounded out 12 hits — with
Cassidy Duke and
Deenah San Luis each with three hits — to out-hit UCSD, 12-4. However, the Warriors scored just one run — an unearned run scored by
Morgan Balestreri in the sixth.
