SAN BERNARDINO -- Cal State San Bernardino used long balls in Friday's doubleheader to edge Cal State Stanislaus twice, 3-2 and 5-3, at San Bernardino.
Nicole Nobbe homered twice in game one and Victoria Lievanos went yard twice as well for the Coyotes as the home team won the first two games of the series. CSUSB improved to 22-20 overall while the Warriors dropped to 13-27 this season.
Jessica Varady also homered for the Warriors in game one before CSUSB won the opener in eight innings. Stanislaus also got a homerun from
Holly Mooring in the nightcap.

The first three runs in the series opener were all scored via the long ball. Nobbe homered in the first inning to give the Coyotes a 1-0 lead. Varady tied it in the fifth on a bomb to right before Nobbe belted her second in the sixth.
Cal State San Bernardino won the game in the eighth on a RBI single by Alyssa Ramos, scoring Nobbe.
In game two, CSUSB's Cassandra Williams sets the Coyotes' single season strikeout record with her 155th. She struck out three in two innings of relief work.
Mooring went 2-for-3 with a homer -- a solo shot in the first inning that gave Stanislaus a 2-0 lead. The homer followed a Duke scoring on a double-steal.
