Promotional Events: Friday is Bells, Whistles and Horns night with local law enforcement agencies on hand and Saturday will be "Conquer the Otter Day" with free Otter Pops for fans.

Series Notes: The Warriors are looking for their first win over SF State since 2012. The teams tie last year in San Francisco, 0-0 and the Gators took a 2-0 decision here in Turlock in 2013. San Francisco State holds a slight 11-10-5 advantage in the all-time series. The Warriors are 7-4-2 here in Turlock against SFSU … The Warriors are 6-0-1 in the last seven meetings against Cal State Monterey Bay with the draw coming last season here in Turlock. Stanislaus also won 2-0 at Seaside last Sept. 28. The last time CSUMB won over the Warriors was on Sept. 26, 2008, the year before Dana Taylor's arrival.

Within the Ranks: Despite two impressive wins over Simpson and Humboldt State, the Warriors actually dropped two places in the NSCAA regional rankings this week. (NR-Not Ranked)

Kuczynski in National Spotlight: Daniel Kuczynski was recongized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for his impressive offensive play last week as he was named Division II Men's Soccer Player of the Week. Kuczynski scored four goals and assisted on three in two matches. His hat-trick, plus two assists game against Simpson resulted in eight points, which is a Stanislaus record for a single match. He was also named the CCAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

Record Setting Forward: Kuczynski scored another goal and assisted on a score in Monday's win over Holy Names to tally 18 goals and 44 points in his career — both new Stanislaus State career records during the CCAA era. He surpassed Hall of Famer Victor Regalado (17 goals, 41 points) for those marks. Stan State's overall record actually belongs to Jose Ramos with 57 career goals, set from 1988 to 1991 when the Warriors were in Division III before transitioning to DIvision II's NCAC in 1989.

Team Records Dropped, too: During the 9-0 win over Holy Names on Monday, the Warriors set a new record for goals in a match since starting CCAA play in 1998 with a 8-0 win over Cal State Hayward (now East Bay). Along with that are new team records with eight assists in a match and 26 points in a match.

How the Nine Goals Were Conquered: Against Holy Names Monday night, Jose Ramirez also knocked in two goals and two assists. Gerardo Cazares played brilliantly and was credited with three assists. Manny Villegas scored his third of the season while three other Warriors — Ramiro Ceja, Luis Hernandez and Sean Baird — all scored their first of 2015. Willie Gomez, who also had an assist, converted on a penalty kick chance at 40:02 in the first half to also contribute to the scoring.

Out-Scoring 2014: The 2015 squad has already out-scored the 2014 team in just five matches. This year's Warriors have netted 24 goals, which is quite a different pace than the 2014 team that finished with 18.

NCAA Stats Leaders: As a team, the Warriors are among the national leaders in scoring, ranking second in assists per game (4.60), total assists (23), goals (24) and points (71). Palm Beach Atlantic tops with 27 assists, 32 goals and 91 points as a team. Daniel Kuczynski is second in goals (7) and points (18). Lynn's Chris Hellmann has 8 goals and 20 points.

Playing Defense, Too: Over-shadowed a little bit by the high-flying offense, the Warrior defense has locked down opponents thus far in five matches. The Warriors have only allowed three scores — two of them penalty kick goals on opening day on Sept. 3 against Academy of Art. So far the defense and goalkeepers Russ Klabough and Alex Valdovinos have earned three shutouts and allowed just one goal of any kind in the last 382-plus minutes.

About the Opponents: San Francisco State is 4-1 entering the weekend with the only loss a 1-0 game at Academy of Art. That was the only goal the Gators have allowed all season. Sam Merritt and Jakob Velega each scored twice for SF State and Emmanuel Jimenez has a 0.20 GAA and a .938 saves percentage, bests in the CCAA … Cal State Monterey Bay is 3-1 after snapping a three-game winning streak to open the year with a 4-2 loss against Fresno Pacific. Michael Maul leads the Otters with two goals (both game-winners) and an assist.
