Series Notes: The Warriors and the Cougars of Cal State San Marcos wil meet for the first time on Friday … Stanislaus is looking for its win in La Jolla having gone 0-5-3 at UC San Diego during the CCAA era. The Warriors went to UC San Diego twice last season with a 1-1 tie on Oct. 10 and a scoreless draw in a play-in game for the CCAA Tournament on Nov. 2 (the Warriors advance 5-4 on PKs).

Kuczynski Among Scoring Leaders in the Nation: Daniel Kuczynski is a second in scoring in NCAA Division II with nine goals, which ties him with Chris Hellmann of Lynn. Palm Beach Atlantic's Lucas DaSilva has 10 goals. Kuczynski is also second in points with 22 (DaSilva 24 points).
Top Player on Defense: Goalkeeper
Russ Klabough was named the CCAA player of the week on Tuesday as he quarterbacked the tremendous Stanislaus defense. In three matches last week, the Warriors did not allow a goal with three shutouts. Klabough had seven saves in 234 minutes of play and shared two shutouts with
Alex Valdovinos. In fact, in a total of 550 minutes played, Klabough and the defense has only given up one non-penalty kick goal. Klabough leads the CCAA goalkeepers with a 0.49 GAA (and two of the goals allowed were PKs).
Record Pace Scoring: Stanislaus continues to fly high on offense with 15 goals in three matches last week, bringing the Warriors' season total to 30. They are closing in on the team record of 36 set in 1998. In 2014, the Warriors scored just 18 goals.
More Records to Watch: Daniel Kuczynski, who already set the Warriors' CCAA era career records in goals and assists, is also on pace to set the single season records in both categories. He currently has 9 goals and 22 points and the Stanislaus records are 13 goals and 28 points in a season, set in 2009 by Victor Regalado.
Undefeated Warriors: The 7-0 record is already a CCAA era team best and the Warriors can continue to set new marks as no Warrior men's soccer team has started a CCAA season 3-0. The 2010 team began the conference season 2-0-1.
About the Opponents: This is Cal State San Marcos' first season in the CCAA. The Cougars are 2-2-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the CCAA with a loss to Cal Staet San Bernardino and an impressive 1-1 tie against Cal Poly Pomona. Louie Farfan has three of the team's seven goals … UC San Diego is 2-2-3 and 1-0-1 in CCAA after beating Pomona 1-0 on Friday and tied CSUSB 0-0. The Tritons has only scored four goals this season and Uly de la Cal has two of those scores.
