Men's Soccer ends season with loss at SF State

Box Score SAN FRANCISCO — Despite playing tough and matching San Francisco State in shots and scoring opportunities, the Stanislaus State men's soccer team came up on the short end of a 2-0 decision to end its 2016 campaign on Saturday.

SF State goalkeeper Emmanual Jimenez came up with seven saves to keep the Warriors off the board to lead the Gators. SF State had goals from Ayden Bowers and Francisco Saucedo to end up 9-6-2 overall and 5-5-2 in the CCAA.

The Warriors finished the year 3-11-4, 1-10-1 in league play.

Stan State goalkeeper Tomas Zajeft had five saves. As a team the Warriors took 18 shots (to SFSU's 19) with eight shots on goal but were not able to find the back of the net.

Bowers scored in the 24th minute for a 1-0 SF State lead and Saucedo netted his third goal of the year in the 35th minute for the 2-0 score.
