PORTLAND – On the second and final day of the CCAA/GNAC Challenge, Stanislaus State fell to Concordia Portland 70-52 at the LCEF Court on Saturday.
Reana Hardin was a bright spot for the Warriors leading all players with 18 points — two points shy of tying her career high.
Ana Burch had eight points and
Erika Larsen scored six. Larsen led the Warriors with eight rebounds, Hardin pulled seven boards and
Cassidy Sanders-Curry rebounded six.
Hardin was sharp in the game with her shooting, hitting on 7 of 14 shots, including four three-pointers. As a team, the Warriors shot 32.3 percent and were just 6 of 23 from the three-point arch.
To begin the game the Warriors banked two three-pointers, giving them a 6-0 lead. The game remained neck and neck for the duration of the first quarter. The Cavaliers began controlling the game during the second quarter, as the Warriors fell into an 11-point deficit at 27-16.
To start the second half Stan State filled the scoring gap and got within three, 34-31. For the remainder of the game, however, the Cavaliers kept a lead of five or more points before going on an 18-point run in the final quarter to surge ahead.
Concordia was led by Briannah Smith with 16 points. Kizzah Maltezo and Bailey Cartwright each scored 10 points. Cartwright led the game with 12 rebounds.
Stan State will be at home for the first time this season starting next week. On Wednesday the Warriors host Academy of Art before Notre Dame de Namur visits on Friday. Both games begin at 5:30 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Arena.
