RENO – The Warriors held their own against Nevada, their second Division I opponent in as many days, before falling 91-77 at the Lawlor Events Center Saturday afternoon in an exhibition contest.
Three Warriors were in double digits in scoring with
Reana Hardin lead the way with 16 points.
Cassidy Sanders-Curry scored 13 and Lizzy Alexander netted 11. Three Warriors — Hardin,
Leticia Infante, and Alexander — also had seven rebounds each as Stan State outrebounded the Wolfpack, 44-38.
Nevada-Reno started the second half on a 12-2 run to build an 18-point lead, 53-35, to rolled to the win in the second half. However, the Warriors were in the game in the first half,t ying the game at 27-27 with 5:44 to play in the second quarter.
The Warriors shot 36.5 percent during the game and made 65.6 percent of their free throws. They also out-gunned UNR from the 3-point line, nailing 10 treys.
AJ Cepahas and T Moe each scored 16 to lead Nevada and Teige Zeller led all players with 11 rebounds.
Stanislaus State opens the regular season play next weekend as they travel to Portland to take on Central Washington and Concordia-Portland during the CCAA/GNAC Challenge.
