Warriors earn split in two one-run games

SAN FRANCISCO — In two more one-run games on Saturday, the Stanislaus State softball team split with San Francisco State to take two of four games in the series against the Gators.

In game two on Saturday, Amy Pedretti went 3-for-4 and the Warriors had three doubles to win the finale 3-2. SF State won the first game 2-1.

Stanislaus State is now 15-12 overall and 12-10 in the California Collegiate Athletics Association and is 4-2 in the last six games. SF State is 11-11, 10-8 in league play.

SF State held the Warriors to three hits in the first game as Jenny Obbema earn the win in the circle for the Gators. Cassidy Duke went 1-for-2 with a walk and Cheyenne Harper drove in the only run on a single to center in the fourth to score Nicolette Vizcaino.

Obbema gave up just the lone run in the complete game, out-dueling Kylie Ragsdale who threw all six innings and gave up two runs on seven hits.

In the finale, the Warriors plated three runs to jump ahead. Brianna Martens doubled to right for two runs and Morgan Balestreri singled in Jill Costa for the three Stan State runs.

Karina Callazo picked up the win in game two with six innings of work. She allowed six hits and two runs. Kylie Ragsdale pitched a scoreless seventh for the save.

Aside for Pedretti's three hits, Ruby Quirlate and Alexus Martinez each had two hits – including a double.

Stanislaus State hosts Chico State next weekend on Friday and Saturday with Friday's series opener at 4 p.m.
