Just about everyone played in 15-6 win over William Jessup

TURLOCK — With a chance to pick up a non-conference game where Kenny Leonesio is able to get players some playing time, Stanislaus State won the battle of the Warriors over William Jessup for the fourth time this season in a 15-6 win Tuesday night.

A total of 24 uniformed players played — with nine pitchers getting on the mound — in this just-scheduled game to fill some holes in the scheduled due to rained out games. Stanislaus, now 18-15, will switch back to CCAA action this weekend with a trip sound to Carson to face Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Each pitcher was scripted to pitch an inning with Colby DeVries going first with an easy 1-2-3 first half. But it was Cody Kruip getting the win as he threw a perfect second inning because that's when Stan State scored — on a RBI single by Erik Colombini. Patrick Mulry would hit his team-leading seventh homer of the year over the tall fence in right in the second, then Stanislaus scored five times in the fifth to make it 7-1.

The home Warriors then tagged on eight runs in the seven as they sent 12 batters to the plate to blow WJU (3-28) away.  In the inning, there were seven hits highlighted by a two-run single by Mulry and a two run double by Garrett Serino.

Mulry finished the game with a 2-for-5 night with three RBI, increasing his team leading average to .339. In the last six games, he's gone 11-for-22 with four doubles, two homers, six RBI and scored 11 times.

Aldo Koutsoyanopulos also stayed hot, going 3-for-5 and scored three times. He's 9-for-18 with two doubles, six RBI and scored eight times in the last four games. Adam Nascimento also had two hits on the night as part of the Warriors' 15-hit dispaly.

William Jessup's defense helped Stan State, committing six errors.

Stanislaus had won all three games against William Jessup to start the 2016 season back on Jan. 29-30. The Warriors had a game washed out against Southern California CCAA teams Cal State L.A. and Cal Poly Pomona, creating gaps in the schedule to fill.
