Box Score CARSON — Israel Murguia's golden goal late in the second overtime period propelled the home team Cal State Dominguez Hills side edged Stanislaus State, 2-1, Friday night in the CCAA opener.
Joshua Jacobs had tied the match in the 64 minute for the Warriors to extend the play as Stanislaus look to post a victory for the first time this season. Instead, trying to earn another tie at a hostile environment against the Toros, Stanislaus came up short to run its record to 0-2-3, 0-1-0 CCAA before Sunday's match at Cal State L.A.
Dominguez Hills (3-1-1, 1-0-0 CCAA) got its first goal via the penalty kick at 57:34 when on a Joey Chica conversion. Chica already has four goals this season.
After Jacobs tied the match at 63:64, the battled continued without any scoring for another 40 minutes game action.
Despite the Warriors being peppered by 24 shots from the Toros, Stan State held strong and kept the match tied a 1-1 until the 104th minute. Murguia end the night with the goal.
The Warriors ended up with 10 shots with five on-goal. Stan State was called for 26 fouls against CSUDH's 11.

Emerson Lovato played 84 minutes and earned four saves.
Cal State L.A. (2-0-3, 1-0-0 CCAA) was a 4-3 winner over Cal State East Bay on Friday.
