TURLOCK – With outstanding team energy Stanislaus State ended their weekend with another three set victory against Cal State East Bay on Saturday night at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena.
The Warriors, now 5-5 overall and 2-0 in league play, took down the Pioneers in straight sets to stay undefeated in the CCAA, (25-12, 25-21, 27-25). The Pioneers fell to 3-6 and 0-2 in the CCAA.
Stan State started the first set strong with a 7-2 lead, later advancing to an 18-8 lead on the Pioneers. The rapid tempo of the match quickly sped up into the second set where the Warriors and Pioneers were neck and neck up until the end. In the third set, the Warriors fell to a 13-17 deficit, but were able to tie it up at 19-19. Play was back and forth until the Warriors pulled ahead to win the set by two.
Warrior spirit was high throughout the match as everyone did their part to gain another win. Three Warriors finished the night with double digit kills.
Blair Ehrlich led with 15,
Taylor Massengale had 11, and
Victoria Larsen smashed 10.

Maddi Seidl had a hot night with 39 assists and 15 digs. Ehrlich also dugs 15, and libero
Jocelyn Cervantes led with 20 digs.
The Pioneers were led by setter Katie Ireland with 22 assists and 24 digs. Four Pioneers contributed in the front row with five or more kills.
The Warriors will be back in Fitzpatrick Arena this Tuesday with a non-conference match against Academy of Art at 7 pm. The Urban Knights are currently 1-8 overall, and 0-1 in the Pacific West Conference.
