ARCATA – Stanislaus State heads on the long journey home from Arcata after being defeated by Humboldt state in four sets on Friday night at Lumberjack Arena.
The Warriors (5-6, 2-1 CCAA) took a set off the Lumberjacks (7-4, 2-1 CCAA) before falling in four sets, 20-25, 25-21, 20-25, 17-25.
Even with the loss the Warrior's managed to put up a good offensive battle. Four Warriors finished the match with seven or more kills.
Blair Ehrlich led with 13,
Victoria Larsen followed with 11,
Lindsay Skadeland had eight, and
Daryan Heathcott killed seven.
Maddi Seidl facilitated the Warriors offense with 34 assists.
Seidl and Larsen both added 11 digs, and libero
Jocelyn Cervantes led the team with 18.
The Lumberjacks were led by hitters Nicole Bewley and Symone Hayden who each had 13 kills. As a team the Lumberjacks accumulated nine blocks against the Warriors offense, and they had 60 digs to the Warriors 59.
With only one conference match for the weekend, the Warriors are headed back to Turlock where they will face Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona next Friday and Saturday night at Fitzpatrick Arena.
