TURLOCK — An early first half goal by NDNU was all of the scoring on the night as the visiting Argonauts edged Stanislaus State, 1-0, Saturday at Warrior Stadium.
Notre Dame de Namur (1-1-0) got a 18-yard blast across the box to the near post from Nicholas Nguyen in the eighth minute of the contest and held on for the win.
Despite a solid effort, Stanislaus State (0-1-1) was limited with shots but seemingly made all of them count but came up empty. The set-back ended the Warriors' four-match winning streak against NDNU. Stan State had shutout NDNU in each of the last two seasons.
The Warriors made NDNU goalkeeper Alex Clewis earn his three saves while
Emerson Lovato gloved two saves for Stanislaus.
Stanislaus will play the next four contests on the road, starting with a pair of matches at San Francisco State's Cox Stadium next week. The Warriors will take on Academy of Art on Thursday at 5 p.m. before facing Holy Names at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
