Sunday

SERIES NOTES: The Warriors are looking to get back on the winning column against Cal State San Bernardino as the Coyotes have gone 3-0-1 against Stan State in the last four seasons. Stanislaus last won against CSUSB on Oct. 21, 2012 in San Bernardino (1-0) and is now 9-8-2 all-time against them … Cal Poly Pomona has won three straight matches against the Warriors and are 4-0-1 since Oct. of 2014. The Broncos is 13-6-2 against Stan State. The last Warriors victory over the Broncos is Oct. 6, 2013 (2-1 in Turlock).

IN THE RANKINGS: Cal Poly Pomona is currently No. 7 in the West Region, ranked by the United Soccer Coaches. The Broncos fell a spot from No. 6 despite winning twice last week.

OFFENSE HITTING STRIDE: The Stan State offense is hot right now. The Warriors have scored eight goals in the last three matches after being shutout in the previous four. They are coming off a four-goal match last Thursday, the first time they scored more than two goals on offense since Oct. 17, 2016 … Five Warriors have now scored two or more goals this season with Joseph Mayorca leading the way with three.

BENDER NETS TWO: Sean Bender scored twice in Thursday's win, recording a 'brace', in leading the team over Benedictine-Mesa. After Joseph Mayorca put the team on the board in the 3nd minute, Bender scored two goals in the a five-minute span to turn it into a 3-0 match.

KEY MATCH FRIDAY: Friday's contest against Cal State San Bernardino could play out to be a crucial one with the winner getting the upper hand in one of the final berths into the CCAA Tournament. The Warriors also have extra incentive in this game as they dropped an awful 6-0 decision last year to the Coyotes in San Bernardino.

WIN THREE STRAIGHT IN CCAA: The Warriors are looking to win three straight CCAA matches — a tough feat to accomplish in this conference — on Friday. The last time they won three straight league games was in the middle of the 2015 season (all three were on the road). During the Dana Taylor era, winning three straight CCAA contests only happened four other times in eight years. Under Taylor, the Warriors won four consecutive CCAA games once (2012).

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS: Cal State San Bernardino won twice last week at home to move up to tied for fourth with 15 points. CSUSB is done with its home schedule, playing out the season on the road for four straight. CCAA player of the week Tony Lo leads the team with five goals and an assist, along side Danny Ortiz (5 goals, 1 assist). Lo scored three goals last weekend … Cal Poly Pomona is atop of the CCAA standings with three straight win. The Broncos have only played three CCAA games away from home thus far. CCAA scoring leader Sergi Monso has 15 goals and 7 assists for 37 points (the next closest is 9 goals, 19 points). He also had six game-winning goals.
