SAN BERNARDINO - In their last trip to the CCAA South this season, the Stanislaus State volleyball team fell in straight sets to Cal State San Bernardino at Coussoulis Arena on Saturday night.
The Warriors fell to the Coyotes 9-25, 12-25, and 20-25 and are now 2-20 overall and 2-12 in the conference. Cal State San Bernardino has advanced to 14-7 and 10-3 in the CCAA.
Sierra Adams led the offense for Stan State with nine kills in the front row and
Jordan Tilley facilitated their offense with 14 assists. In the back row
Sara Schell led with six digs and
Morgan Miller had three blocks.
The Warriors had a tough night against the Coyotes, unable to defend against CSUSB's aggressive offense. The Coyotes out-hit Stan State 42-21 in the three set sweep. The high defensive demands combined with an abundance of Warrior errors gave Cal State San Bernardino the match. The Warriors gave up 28 total errors with 22 hitting errors and six serving errors.
Leading the Coyotes offense was Lauren Nicholson and Hailey Jackson with 11 kills apiece. Jayann DeHoog ran Cal State San Bernardino's offense with 31 assists for the night. On defense, Alexis Cardoza led for CSUSB with 12 digs.
Next week the Warriors will stay in Turlock for their final two matches at home. On Wednesday night Stan State will host Sonoma State at 5 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Arena.
