TURLOCK - In their final home match of 2017, the Stanislaus State volleyball team swept Humboldt State to take home the senior night victory at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena on Saturday night.

In a quick three-set faceoff, the Warriors defeated the Jacks 25-18, 25-11, and 25-20 and are now 3-21 overall and 3-21 in league. Humboldt State has fallen to 3-17 overall and 2-12 in the CCAA.
Stan State beat the Lumberjacks in both meetings this season.

Senior
Sara Schell led the Warriors' offense with 10 kills. Fellow senior
Morgan Miller followed with eight kills, and
Sierra Adams had five kills. Setter
Jordan Tilley facilitated Stan State's offense with 19 assists for the night. In the back row, Tilley and libero
Kaitlyn Iwamoto each had 13 digs to aid the Stan State defense, and Schell had 12 digs.
The Warriors also played well at the net in the blocking game.
Sierra Adams led with five total blocks with a solo, Miller had four total blocks including a solo and senior
Rebecca Conley assisted on four blocks. In all, Stan State had 17 total blocks.

Stan State stepped onto the court fired up for their final match at the Fitz this season, and played to win from the start. The Warriors went on a 3-0 run to begin the match starting with a Stan State kill and two Lumberjack errors. A five-point Warriors run (13-8) followed by an eight-point run (21-14) earned Stan State their set one victory.

To push the Warriors through set two, three runs served by
Hailey Gruetzmacher, Tilley, and Klopfer gave Stan State a 16-point lead (24-8). In set three the Lumerjacks gave the Warriors a run for their money, taking their first lead of the match, 6-10. Inching their way back Stan State tied the set at 17-17 and held firmly to the advantage until the decisive point.

Lauren Reid led the Lumberjacks with nine kills and setter Taylor Yancey facilitated the Humboldt State offense with 12 assists. On defense, Sarah Shively led with 10 digs and Morgan Psalmonds had nine digs.

The Warriors will be on the road next week for their final weekend of play. Stan State will travel to Cal State Easy Bay on Friday and Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday.
