Box Score BAKERSFIELD - Heading up against their second Division I program, the Stanislaus State women's basketball team suffered a setback against CSU Bakersfield, losing 35-58 with a scoreless first quarter.
Lizzy Alexander and Zahria Hendrix shared the Warriors' leading role with nine points apiece. Hendrix was the Warriors most efficient shooter going three-for-five from field, banking her only three-point attempt, and two free throws.
Caprina Pipion scored eight points and
Erika Larsen scored six.
Stan State out-rebounded the roadrunners 41-40, Larsen leading with 10 rebounds, Hendrix with six rebounds, and Alexander had five.
The Warriors fell behind in the first quarter, unable to make a basket while the Roadrunners put up 16 points. Stan State posted nine points in the second quarter while CSUB put 16 more on the board before half time. The Warriors outscored CSUB in the fourth quarter with 12 points while Bakersfield only scored eight. The Roadrunners took back the advantage in the final quarter to round out their 58 points to take the win.
Five Roadrunners had seven or more points to lead the team and three players had five or more rebounds.
Stanislaus will host the annual CCAA/GNAC challenge this Friday and Saturday at Fitzpatrick Arena in Turlock.
