Warriors on the road to Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino

This week the Stanislaus State women's basketball team will be traveling to the CCAA South to challenge Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino. The Warriors will play the Broncos on Thursday and take on the Coyotes on Saturday.

Double-Double Davis: Against San Francisco State on Saturday Kyanna Davis gave another noteworthy performance at the Fitz. Davis earned the first double-double of her career with 12 points and 10 rebounds against the Gators.  She also tagged on three steals, two assists, and two blocks.
 
Strong Rebounding Game: Against the Gators last weekend the Warriors dominated the rebounding game, tallying over 10 rebounds more than San Francisco State. With four players grabbing five or more rebounds, Stan State totaled 47 rebounds for the game while SFSU only had 35 rebounds. Kyanna Davis led with 10 rebounds, Erika Larsen grabbed seven, and Lizzy Alexander and Brittney Livingston each had five rebounds. 
 
Tough Opponents Ahead: Now that teams are into the final month of conference play, the remaining games spanning over the next four weeks are crucial for determining who will appear in the CCAA postseason tournament. Currently sitting at 10th in the conference the Warriors must earn some wins if they hope to continue on to the CCAA championships, and they are scheduled to challenge some tough competition in the next month. The Warriors play five out of the current top six teams in the conference over the next eight games.

Cal Poly Pomona BRONCOS (13-7, 10-5 CCAA)
 
Series Notes: The Warriors are 8-31 overall against Cal Poly Pomona. They are currently on a 4-game winning streak against the Broncos, which includes a victory earlier this season.
 
Last Time We Met... was on Nov. 18 at home. The Warriors defeated CPP 72-65, and Erika Larsen earned her season high of 13 rebounds. 

About the Broncos: The Broncos are led offensively by Priscilla Brooks who averages 11.1 points per game. Brooks is also CPP's leading rebounder with 7.9 rebounds per game. She is ninth in the conference with 7.5 rebounds per CCAA competition ... As a team Cal Poly Pomona shoots 38.7 percent from the field, 27.3 percent from the three-point arc, and 72.3 percent from the free-throw line ... Last weekend the Broncos Lost to Cal State East Bay 67-76 on Friday, and lost 49-50 to Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday.
 
Cal State San Bernardino COYOTES (9-11, 7-9 CCAA)
 
Series Notes: Stan State is 12-28 against Cal State San Bernardino since 1998. The Warriors lost to them once earlier this season at home.
 
Last Time We Met… was on Nov. 15 in Turlock when the Coyotes defeated Stan State 72-60. Erika Larsen was just short of a double-double with 14 points and seven rebounds.
 
About the Coyotes: CSUSB is currently being led by Kaitlyn Parks with 10.7 points per game. Lunden Junious-Reliford leads with 6.7 rebounds per game and Arianna Knox averages 6.5 rebounds per game ... As a team the Coyotes shoot 37.8 percent from the field, 28.4 percent from the three-point arc, and 65.8 percent from the free-throw line ... Last weekend the Coyotes defeated both CSUEB and CSUMB. They beat the Otters 80-55 and defeated the Pioneers 67-57.
