NAMPA, Idaho — The Stanislaus State women's basketball team fell short against the Central Washington Wildcats Saturday night in a 94-59 loss.
The Warriors leave Idaho in defeat after losing their last and second game in the CCAA-GNAC Crossover event over the weekend. The women started off strong in the first but eventually fell behind and were not able to keep up.
Lizzy Alexander led in points with a total of 23 and was also the co-leader with six rebounds with
Caprina Pipion.
Angelica Baylon had 10 points and six assists.
Stan State and CWU (2-0) went point for point in the first but soon the Wildcats took a big lead ending the second period with a lead of 45-24. The Wildcats outscored Stanislaus, 23-4 in the second period.
The Warriors went 17-for-54 in field goals with a shooting percentage of 31.5 percent against the Wildcats' hot 66.7 percent shooting from the floor.
Taylor Shaw led CWU with 28 points and Alexis Pana added 16. Kassidy Malcolm led with eight rebounds and five assists.
The Warriors will be playing in the NDNU Tournament next weekend in Belmont, facing off against Dominican on Friday and host Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday.
