Warriors head south for their last CCAA road weekend

This week the Stanislaus State women's basketball team will be on the road for their final travel weekend of the season. The Warriors are headed down south to take on Cal State L.A. on Thursday and Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday.

Travel Challenges: So far this season the Warriors are only 3-9 on the road, only two of which were conference wins. Stan State defeated No. 24 UC San Diego in La Jolla, and Cal State San Bernardino at CSUSB. Only two of their nine road losses were within ten points of a victory.
 
Rebounding Accolades: Against Humboldt State on Saturday Erika Larsen had 11 rebounds. It was her tenth game as the Warriors leading rebounder and the fourth time she has hit double-digit rebounds this year. She upped her average to 7 rebounds per game and is 10th in the CCAA in that respect.
 
Stealing While Sitting: Even while sitting out for three games at the beginning of 2018, Zahria Hendrix Is still second in the conference in steals. Nautica Morrow from Cal State Dominguez Hills leads the category with 3.4 steals per game, and Hendrix Is second best with 2.7 steals per game. Strictly in CCAA competitions, Hendrix is tied for second place with Tyla Turner from Humboldt state averaging 2.8 steals per game.

Cal State L.A. GOLDEN EAGLES (13-12, 12-7 CCAA)
 
Series Notes: Stan State is 22-17 against Cal State L.A. since 1998. The Warriors beat CSULA earlier this season and are now on a three-game winning streak against the Golden eagles.
 
Last Time We Met... was on Dec. 2 earlier this season. The Warriors hosted Cal State L.A. at home and beat them 63-60. Zahria Hendrix scored her season high of 18 points and had three blocks and four steals.

About the Golden Eagles: Rikke Fabricius leads the Golden Eagles in both scoring and rebounding. She averages 14.6 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game, which is fifth in the CCAA. Fabricius shoots 43 percent from the field and 73.8 percent from the free-throw line …  As a team Cal State L.A. shoots 38.3 percent from the field, 27.9 percent from the three-point arc, and 62.64 percent from the free-throw line.
 
Cal State Dominguez Hills TOROS (11-13, 9-10 CCAA)
 
Series Notes: The Warriors are 17-20 against Cal State Dominguez Hills overall, and will see them for the first time this season on Saturday. Stan State beat them twice last season, snapping a seven-game losing streak.
 
Last Time We Met… was on Jan. 13, 2017 at home. The Warriors hosted Cal State Dominguez Hills and defeated them 54-43. Erika Larsen led the game with nine rebounds.
 
About the Toros: The Toros are led on offense by Nautica Morrow who averages 17.9 points per game, the third highest scoring average in the conference. Taylor Farris leads Cal State Dominguez Hills' rebounding efforts with 8.8 rebounds per game which is seventh in the league. Farris leads the CCAA with 2.3 blocks per game, Morrow is top in the conference with 3.4 steals per game, and Zhane Carter is tied for second in the league with 2.4 three-pointers per game  … As a team the Toros shoot 36.8 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from the three-point arc, and 65.7 percent from the free-throw line.
