TURLOCK – To open the CCAA schedule, the Stanislaus State softball team went 1-1 against Cal State East Bay winning 2-1 in 13 innings and falling 3-5 in the nightcap on Friday night at the Warriors Softball Field.
With conference play on its way the Warriors are now 6-3 overall and 1-1 in league while the Pioneers are 7-5 and 3-3.
Aliyah Garvin went 3-for-6 in game one and
Kylie Ragsdale went 2-for-5 and scored two runs.

Joerdan Lovell, and
Megan Stacy each hit a double, and Lovell and Stacy each earned an RBI.
After going through the first six innings without scoring a run and earning only four hits, the Warriors stepped up to avoid taking the loss when Lovell hit a double to drive Ragsdale to home plate and tie the game. Five extra innings went by before Stan State was able to score, then Stacy doubled to left center to send Ragsdale to score the game winning run.

Deja Guzman, Lovell, and Garvin each got a hit in the nightcap and Garvin, Gonzalez, and Guzman each earned an RBI. Garvin, Gonzalez, and Guzman all hit a double and Martinez, Garvin, and
Katelyn McDonald each scored a run.
Building on the momentum from game one, the Warriors scored a run in the first inning as Gonzalez hit a double to left center. East Bay scored twice in the second to take the lead, and the Warriors tied the score with a run in both the fifth and sixth innings. Maddie Ramirez from Cal State East Bay hit a triple in the seventh inning to score two more runs, regaining the lead for her team. The Pioneers earned three consecutive outs at the bottom of the seventh to take the game.
Megan Stacy earned the win from the circle in the series opener throwing the final two innings. She struck out two batters without giving up a hit and is now 3-0.
Kristin Borst suffered the lost in the nightcap pitching the final inning of the game (1-1). She gave up two earned runs on one hit and struck out one batter.
Tomorrow morning the Warriors will be back at the Warrior Softball Field for another doubleheader against the Pioneers. The first pitch will be throw at noon.
