Livingston earns double-double, Warriors fall to Cal State East Bay

TURLOCK – To start their final weekend at Fitzpatrick Arena the Stanislaus State women's basketball team lost to Cal State East Bat 53-61 on Thursday night at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena.
 
The Warriors are now 10-17 overall and 7-14 in the CCAA while the Pioneers have advanced to 16-12 and 12-10 in the conference.
 
Kyanna Davis had another double-figure scoring night, leading Stan State with 17 points. Brittney Livingston scored 13 points and Caitlin Keding had 10 points. Livingston earned the first double-double of her career with 10 rebounds to lead the Warriors. Davis followed with seven rebounds.
 
As a team Stan State shot 31.5 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from the three-point arc, and 86.7 percent (13-15) from the free-throw line.
 
Stan State started the game strong, taking an 8-1 lead in the first quarter. They increased their lead to eight points (18-10) before CSUEB made a three-pointer and a free-throw to finish the period just four points behind (18-14). Cal State East Bay made seven three-pointers in the second quarter to pull themselves ahead and take a 35-26 lead before heading into half time.
 
The Warriors struggled to keep up after half time even while shooting 90 percent at the free-throw line. For every shot Stan State made the Pioneers followed with their own basket to lead at the end of the third quarter, 48-36. Cal State East Bay kept Stan State at bay, managing to maintain a lead of seven or more points in the final period before taking the win.
 
Kincso Kolemen led the Pioneers with 15 points and Elayshia Woolridge score 14 points. Savannah McGill led the game with 13 rebounds and Woolridge had seven assists. As a team Cal State East Bay shot 45.7 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from the three-point arc, and 50 percent at the free-throw line.
 
Stan State will play their final game of the season on Saturday night as they host Cal State Monterey Bay at the Fitz.
