SAN BERNARDINO – Facing a tough day, the Stanislaus State softball team fell twice to Cal State San Bernardino, 1-5 and 3-6 at Coyote Park on Saturday afternoon.
With the losses the Warriors are now 14-11 and 9-9 in the CCAA while CSUSB has advanced to 14-9 and 9-9 in conference play.
In game one
Bryanna Menor was one of five Warriors to tally a single hit, and led with a home run. In the nightcap,
Maya Yoshiura was 3-for-4 at the plate, hit a double, and scored two runs.
Katelyn McDonald was 2-for-4 earning an RBI, and
Ruby Quiralte hit the second Stan State homer of the day.
The Warriors scored their one run in the opener off of Menor's home run to center field in the sixth inning. In game two, Quiralte homered in the second inning to put the first run on the board. Cal State San Bernardino scored twice in the second and four times in the third to give them their winning score.
In the fourth inning the Coyotes walked Yoshiura home to make the score 2-6. At the top of the fifth McDonald hit an RBI single to left field to score Stan State's final run.
Megan Stacy suffered the loss in game one pitching the first four innings. She gave up all five runs but also struck out five batters and is now 7-2 in the circle.
Kylie Ragsdale took the loss in the nightcap pitching all six innings after throwing two in game one. Ragsdale gave up five earned runs and is now 3-4.
Next week the Warriors will host the annual Tournament of Champions, but not before hosting a pair of nonconference game at the Warrior Softball Field. Stan State will play California Baptist at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, immediately after which they will take on Central Washington at 5 p.m.
