TURLOCK - To conclude the annual Tournament of Champions the Stanislaus State softball team earned a win over Concordia Portland 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Warrior Softball Field. 

After four TOC games the Warriors have ended the weekend 3-1 and are now 17-13 overall. Concordia is now 15-14. 

Stan State's win was truly a team effort, with six Warriors earning a single hit. Aliyah Garvin hit a double and earned an RBI, and Katelyn McDonald and Alanah Laupua-Vanisi also earned RBI's. Alexus Martinez scored two out of Stan State's three runs and pinch runner Karmyn Rivera scored as well. 

The Warriors scored their first run in the first inning as McDonald grounded out to second base while the bases were loaded to send Martienz home. In the second inning Garvin hit the RBI doubles to give Stan State some cushion. Rivera scored in the fifth inning as a Cavalier fielding error allowed Laupua-Vanisi to make it to first. 

Karina Callazo earned the win against Concordia pitching the first five innings. She struck out three batters, only gave up three hits, and is now 1-1 in the circle.

This coming Tuesday Stan State will host a nonconference doubleheader against Western Washington beginning at 3 p.m. at the Warrior Softball Field.
