CARSON — The Warriors found a terrible time to struggle, especially on the mound, as Stanislaus State lost the series finale at Cal State Dominguez Hills, 7-3, on Sunday.
Stan State has lost seven straight games and dropped to 21-27 overall, 17-25 in the CCAA after the series sweep against the Toros (17-29, 14-16 CCAA).
Braeden Oki went 2-for-5 with a double and scored twice at the top of the lineup to lead the Warriors.
Brandon De La Guardia went 2-for-4 while
Jack Large and
Anthony Enwiya also drove in runs.
The Warriors tied the game at 3-3 in the third on a pair of sac flies by Large and Enwiya, but those were the only runs they would get across against CSUDH starter Luke Laurita. Reliever Jacob Musial then pitched four shutout innings, allowing just two hits, to held off the Stan State offense.
Dalton Duarte went 4-for-4 with a double and a homer to drive in three runs to lead the CSUDH bats.
Stanislaus State has two more games on the schedule next Saturday at Chico State to conclude the series at started in Turlock on Feb. 16-17.
