TURLOCK — Three early goals by Cal State Dominguez Hills doomed the Warriors as the visiting Toros took a 3-0 decision against Stanislaus State Friday night.
In a typical physical match in the CCAA where bodies hit the pitch all over the place, the previously winless CSUDH team escapes Warrior Stadium with the win to improve to 1-4-0 overall and 1-0-0 CCAA. The Warriors dropped their second straight match after a 3-0 start and are now 3-2-0, 0-1-0 CCAA.
Stanislaus State will try for better results, on national TV, on Sunday when it hosts Cal State L.A.
The Toros scored three times in the first 27 minutes including the first goal at 5:50 on a misplay by the Stan State goalkeeper who had the save but let the ball slip by for the 1-0 score. Two long blasts by CSUDH resulted in goals in the 17th and 27th minute to make it 3-0.
