SEASIDE — The Cal State Monterey Bay Otters scored early, then limited the Warriors offense to just eight shots on the day as Stanislaus State dropped a 1-0 decision in Seaside on Sunday.
Alyssa Herrman made the start in goal for Stanislaus and came up with eight saves. However, the Warriors dropped to 4-3-2 overall and 1-2-1 in CCAA play.
The loss to CSUMB was just Stanislaus's fourth, ever. The Warriors snapped a three-match winning streak and are now 24-4-1 against the Otters.
Brooke Tafoya accounted for the only goal of the contest, which came at 4:41. She was assisted by Allexxis Hand. CSUMB out-shot Stan State 16-8. The Otters took 11 shots in the first half (the Warriors were credited with just one), but Herrman saved seven despite allowing the Tafoya score.
The Warriors are on the road again next weekend with matches at Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino.
