POMONA — Stanislaus State had a 2-1 lead in the second half, but host Cal Poly Pomona scored three unanswered goals for a 4-2 win Friday night.
The Warriors fell to 3-6-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the CCAA. Cal Poly Pomona is 4-4-0, 2-1-0 CCAA.
Sean Bender scored in the first half to tie the match, then
Ryan Kane scored in the second half to give the Warriors a lead. Bender's score came in the 44th minute to tie the match. His header goal was flicked in by
Ryan Kane and
Fermin Chaidez.
Kane scored a goal himself in the 52nd minute off of a rebound shot by
Joseph Mayorca to make it 2-1.
But Cal Poly Pomona answered with goals in the 61st, 77th and 78th minute to hand Stan State its sixth straight loss.
Jimmie Villalobos scored twice to lead Cal Poly Pomona.
Edgar Benitez was in goal for Stanislaus. He had five saves.
