Joseph Mayorca scored twice and assisted on another to account for three goals as Stanislaus State defeated Simpson, 4-1, Monday afternoon.
The Warriors complete a perfect road trip with three victories while opening the year 3-0, the best start since a 7-0 start in 2015.
Stan State scored quickly, getting a goal from
Javier Ceballos (San Jose/DeAnza College) just 72 seconds into the contest. Mayorca took opportunity of a Red Hawk turnover, touched the ball to Ceballos who finished through the legs of Simpson goalkeeper Nyjel Buchanan.
Mayorca (Stockton/Weston Ranch HS) scored the second goal of the match in the fifth minute when
Esteban Hernandez (Salida/Gregori HS) played a pretty long ball to set up the score.
The Warriors made it 3-0 in the 34th minute whn Mayorca converted on another Simpson turnover.
Antonio Hernandez (Madera/Madera HS) added the team's fourth score in the 76th minute to make it 4-0.
Stanislaus State out-shot SImpson, 20-7.
The Warriors open their home schedule on Saturday when the William Jessup Warriors visit for a 7 p.m. match at Warrior Stadium.
