TURLOCK — An early goal did not hold-up for the Stanislaus State men's soccer team in the battle of Warriors Saturday night at Warrior Stadium as William Jessup scored twice late to post a 2-1 win.
Sean Bender's goal in the eighth minute was all Stan State had to show for despite out-shooting Jessup, 16-5. In the end, the good guy Warriors dropped to 3-1-0 overall heading into the conference season.

Adrian Yepez set-up the Bender goal at 7:54 for the early lead. Then a stalemate ensued.
William Jessup (3-1-0) even the score in the 51st minute on a Tanner Federico goal from a clearance deflection. Brad Baum sent in the game-winner for the WJU Warriors in the 85th minute on another deflection to shock Stan State.
WJU goalkeeper Nick Garcia earn his star on the night by turning away the Stan State Warriors with seven saves.
The Warriors will open CCAA play at home next weekend, first with Cal State Dominguez Hills Friday night at 7 p.m.
