Warriors Break Gators' Winning Streak after Thursday Night’s Game

SAN FRANCISCO –The Warriors kept the lead Thursday night as they soared past the San Francisco State Gators to win 70-58. The women concluded each quarter of Thursday's game with the lead and continued to succeed on offense. The Warriors led by 18 points during the last minutes of the third quarter.
 
Stan State will now be 3-8 in conference and 4-11 overall. San Francisco will fall 7-4 in conference and 8-8 overall.
 
Thursday's game is San Francisco State's first loss coming off a six-game winning streak. This will be Stan State's first win after losing two straight at home.
 
Brittney Livingston started the game off strong with a three pointer to put the Warriors on the board. Although the first quarter started off rough, the Warriors soon gained their strength and momentum to pull ahead leading to their success. The women came out of the first 14-8 and never lost the lead.
 
Kyanna Davis led the offense with 18 points and Livingston finished with 16. and Kaleigh Taylor both had nine rebounds. Samantha Rudd played a great game with a personal best five assists.
 
The Warriors went 22-for-28 at the free throw line and scored 20 points off turnovers. The Gators had a rough night on offense going 16 of 53 from the field and 4-for-15 on three pointers. Although, they could score 22 points off turnovers.
 
Toni Edwards was the point leader for the Gators with 15 points. Jhaina Stephens was the leading rebounder with 12 rebounds and scored 14 points. Toni Edwards also had six assists.
 
Stan State will take on the Sonoma State Seawolves on Saturday, at 1 p.m. in Rohnert Park.
