Andy Cleaves scored 24 points for his sixth 20-point game this season, but the Stanislaus State men's basketball team lost a tight game, 68-65, at Sonoma State Saturday afternoon.
Cleaves went 8 for 17 and made four three-pointers before the Warriors dropped their records to 7-9, 4-8 CCAA. It was Cleaves' fourth 20-point game in six outings this month.
Rolaun Dunham and
Ty Davis each had seven assists to pace the offense.
Sonoma State took over in the second half on the strength of shooting 58.1 percent of its shots (18 of 31). The Seawolves shot just 25 percent in the first half.
Stanislaus State led by 15 points, 43-28, at 13:52 in the second half.
The Warriors were 8 of 23 from the three-point arch Saturday afternoon after hitting 14 Thursday at San Francisco State. Sonoma State was playing in its only game of the week on Saturday.
Cal State Monterey Bay, which snapped a 31-game losing streak on Thursday with a win over Chico State, is the Warriors' next opponent. The Otters visit Fitzpatrick Arena Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
