Warriors grab second win over Cal State Monterey Bay

TURLOCK – The Warriors faced the Cal State Monterey Bay Otters Thursday night and pulled out their second win over the Otters, 70-51. Thursday's game was one of Stan State's highest scoring games of the season. This is the Warriors' fourth conference win of the 2018-19 season.
 
Stan State is now 4-9 in the CCAA and 5-12 overall. The Otters remain at winless for the 2018-19 season, making them 0-13 and 0-16.
 
Stanislaus went 15 for 22 on free throws and shot 42.4 percent from the field. Monterey Bay went 13-19 for free throws and gave away 23 points on turnovers. Stan only gave up 14 points off turnovers. The Warriors scored 34 points in the paint.
 
Four Warriors reached double digits in Thursday's game. Caitlin Keding scored a season-best 16 points leading the team on offense. Behind her was Angelica Baylon with 15 points and tied with 13 were Kyanna Davis and Kaleigh Taylor.
 
Brittney Livingston led the team with 10 rebounds.

Despite fouling out in the fourth,  Taylor had a good night on offense shooting 54.5 percent and grabbed seven rebounds. Baylon also had two season highs with five steals and seven assists.
 
The Warriors remained in the lead for the entire game and only trailed by two for a few seconds in the third. For most of the game, the Warriors were up by double digits over the Otters.
 
Jordan Price led the Otters with 18 points. Yolanda Ealy had 12 points and led in rebounds with ten for the Otters.
 
The Warriors will take on the Pioneers of Cal State East Bay on Saturday at the Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena at 5:30 p.m.
