Angelica Baylon led four Warriors in double digits in scoring as the Stanislaus State women's basketball team snapped a three-game skid with a 61-51 win over Cal State Monterey Bay Saturday afternoon at the Kelp Bed.
Baylon scored 17 points and
Kaleigh Taylor earned her first career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Stan State, which improved to 3-9 overall and 2-6 in CCAA. Cal State Monterey Bay continued its long losing streak, now 0-12, 0-8 this season.
Brittney Livingston scored 12 and
Kyanna Davis chipped in 10 to pace the team.
The Warriors had one of their best shooting games of the season as they combined for a 43.5 percentage from the field despite making just 1 of 13 from behind the arch. Stan State made up for it at the foul line, converting on 20 of 23 tries.
Stan State trailed 15-9 after the first but rallied for 23 points in the second quarter to make it 32-28. The Warriors led by as many as 10 points late in the game, which was also the final margin.
Monterey Bay has now loss 18 straight games dating back to the 2017-18 season.
