TURLOCK – Stan State played in two tough games over the weekend and fell to the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos 0-4 on Sunday morning. The Warriors played a tough match but were not able to keep up with the Broncos' fast offense.
The Broncos succeed to 4-3-2 overall and 3-0-1 in conference. The Warriors fall to 3-7-0 overall and 0-5-0 in CCAA.
GOALS
- The Broncos' scored first when, Eduardo Faria scored a goal unassisted in the 6th minute.
- Cal Poly Pomona lead by 2-0 in the 31st minutes, when Jimmia Villalobos scored from low right assisted by Gabriel Castillo.
- Starting out the second half, Eduardo Faria scored his second goal of the match with a clean pass from Jordan Jackmon.
- Eduardo Faria scored goal No. 4 for the Broncos in the 81st minute and was assisted by Ateno Ajeakwa to close out the game 4-0.
GOALKEEPER NOTES
- The Warriors keeper Daniel Dubiel made three saves. He faced 16 shots, seven of which were on goal.
NOTEWORTHY
- The last time the two teams met, the Warriors lost 2-4 in September 2018.
- The Warriors are 6-16-2 against the Broncos since they first played in October 1998.
- The Broncos outshot the Warriors by ten, 16-6.
