SAN MARCOS –The Warriors fell to the Cougars of Cal State San Marcos on Friday afternoon when they lost 1-3. It was a tough game for the Warrior men as the Cougars offense came out fast and strong.
The Warriors are now 0-7-0 in the CCAA and 3-9-0 overall. The Cougars succeed to 3-2-2 in conference and 5-6-2 overall.
GOALS
- San Marcos scored first when Raul Meza made a goal, unassisted, from low left in the 22nd minute.
- The Cougars were up by two in the 33rd minute after Juan Salazar scored unassisted with an incredible bicycle kick.
- A three-goal lead by the Cougars in the 88th after Salazar scored his second goal of the game assisted by Fabian Jacobo.
- A last-minute goal by Dayne Sturtevant with a beautiful shot in the 89th minute put the Warriors on the board. Sebastian Cole assisted Sturtevant for the Warriors first goal.

NOTEWORTHY
- The two teams have only played each other five times after today since 2015.
- The last time the Warriors and the Cougars met, the Warriors fell 0-1 to the Cougars in October 2018.
- The Warriors are 0-3-2 against San Marcos since 1998.
- The Cougars made some amazing shots but missed and luckily their mistakes kept the deficit less than it could have been.
- The Cougars outshot the Warriors, 33-11; 10-6 for shots on goal.
