SAN MARCOS – Stan State took on the Cougars of Cal State San Marcos on Friday and beat them in a shutout of 2-0. This is the Warriors' seventh shutout of the season. The game was slow in the beginning but the Warriors showed their strength in the end.
The Warriors are now 5-2-0 in the CCAA and 10-2-0 overall. The Cougars fall to 3-4-0 in conference and 4-6-2 overall.
GOALS
- Finally, in the 67th minute, Sadie Ortiz came out from high left with a goal assisted by Skylar Hoy.
- The Warriors out again with goal No. 2 in the 75th minute! Selia Torres scored her fifth goal of the season and was assisted by Ortiz.
GOALKEEPER NOTES
- At the half, Alyssa Herrman had two saves.
- Herrman made a total of four saves.
- This is Herrman's seventh shutout of the season which brings Herrman into Stan State's top ten of single season shutout records.

"We learned a lot from our match against Cal Poly and how to deal with teams that want to play us physically. Our mindset in this match was phenomenal. San Marcos is a tough place to play. They are well coached and organized. We did a great job in the second half breaking them down," said Bolton.
