SAN FRANCSICO – The Warriors traveled to San Francisco on Friday afternoon and were defeated by the Gators 2-1. Both teams put up a fight and it was a tough game on both sides. The Gators and the Warriors were evenly matched throughout the game and both teams didn't give up.
After this loss, the Warriors fall to 0-3-0 in the CCAA, they are 3-5-0 overall. The Gators succeed to 2-0-0 in conference and are 5-1-0 overall this season.
GOALS
- The Gators were on the board first when Ramiro Palencia scored their first goal in the 21st minute from low center with an assist by Seiya Otsuka.
- Miguel Galdamez scored the Warriors first goal to tie the game 1-1 in the 63rd minute. Galdamez was assisted by Joseph Mayorca.
- Less than three minutes later, the Gators went ahead with a penalty kick from Jonathan Orozco in the 65th minute.
GOALKEEPING NOTES
- Justin Motzkus completed three saves.
- Motzkus faced ten shots, five of which were on goal.
NOTEWORTHY
- Stan State is 11-14-6 against SF State since they first met in September, 1998.
- The last time the two teams met the Warriors lost 0-4 last October.
