Toler's 20 and team effort lead Warriors to victory over CSUDH

TURLOCK — A hot shooting night and a good all-around team effort results in another victory this week as the Stanislaus State women defeated Cal State Dominguez Hills, 85-67, Saturday night in the CCAA home opener.
 
The Warriors remain perfect after two conference games as they improved to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
 
Saturday Night's Top Performers
Lauren Toler scored a career high 20 points on 9 of 14 shooting.
Kyanna Davis was 7 of 12 for 17 points with 15 rebounds for her second consecutive double-double. It was her seventh career double-double.
Angelica Baylon was credited with 11 assists, tying a career high, which also previously came against CSUDH on March 3, 2019.
Kaleigh Taylor scored 10 points with seven rebounds and three blocked shots.
• Lizzie More was 7 of 11 shooting for 14 points and seven rebounds.
 
Dominating Team Performance
• As a team the Warriors shot 50 percent (35 for 70) against CSUDH's 30 percent night.
• The Warriors out-rebounded the Toros 48-40.
• Stan State had 21 assists on 35 made baskets.
• The Warriors led wire to wire from the tip.
 
Key Points of the Game
• 13-0 run late in the second period turned a five-point lead into a 18-point advantage, capped by a Lizzie Moore layup.
• The Warriors maintained a double-digit lead since halfway into the second period.
• A Jasmine Phoolka three-pointer got CSUDH within 10 points with 3:57 left to play in the fourth, but a 5-0 run started by a Lauren Toler three-point play helped the Warriors stay well ahead.

The Warriors will take a breather from conference play with a non-conference game on Tuesday at Fresno Pacific. Game time is 7 p.m. in Fresno.
