SAN FRANCISCO — The Warriors picked up another key West Region non-conference victory Friday evening as they defeated Concordia Portland, 62-56, at the Gator Gobble tournament at San Francisco State.
Vida Faniel had a great all-around game and three Warriors scored double digits as Stanislaus State improved to 5-1 overall.
Top Warrior Performances

Vida Faniel scored 15 points, going 7 for 17 from the floor, with nine rebounds — both team highs. He also had three assists, a block and four steals, also a game-high. He has scored in double digits in all six regular season games this year.

Ty Davis added 14 points to pace the Warriors.

Darius Scott netted 13 points on 5 of 11 shooting, including two three-pointers. He also grabbed eight rebounds and a four assists.

Luis Salgado pulled eight boards to go with nine points.
Key Moments of the Game
• The close games only saw a team leading by double-figures once. That happened at 13:46 in the second half when Faniel's layup gave Stanislaus a 42-32 lead.

Luis Salgado's three-pointer at 2:59 left turned away a Cavaliers rally that got them within two points. Faniel followed that with a jumper to give the Warriors a 7-point lead.
• The win came despite the Warriors shooting just 1 of 10 from the three-point arc in the second half. They were 4 of 22 in the game.
Game-Noteworthy
• The Warriors are now 2-0 against GNAC opponents this season. They beat Seattle Pacific on Nov. 12. Stan State is now 9-6 against GNAC opponents since 1998.
• Stan State is now 4-0 in non-conference, in-region games.
• The game was the first meeting between the Warriors and Concordia (Ore.).
