LA JOLLA — Against the No. 22 ranked UC San Diego Tritons, the Stanislaus State women's tennis team came up short to lose for the first time this season.
UCSD Tritons had relatively easy time with the 7-0 win. The closest matches on the day were at No. 1 and No. 6 singles play. Stan State's top player
Cassidy Ferrell lost 6-2, 6-3 to Ashley Chao. At No. 6,
Taylor Galya lost to Anu Bhadada with the same scores.
At No. 1 doubles, Ferrell and partner
Maria Ochoa was blanked by Chao and Becky Chou, 6-0.
The Warriors will remain in San Diego and will face No. 20 Point Loma on Saturday. Next week the Warriors face yet another ranked team at No. 5 Academy of Art.
