TURLOCK — Despite a second consecutive 4-3 loss, the top three singles players on the Stanislaus State women's tennis team had great success on Sunday before the Warriors lost to Rollins College.

The Warriors have now drop three straight 4-3 decisions to fall to 3-4 on the season.

Cassidy Ferrell, Amila Gogalija and Maria Ochoa all posted victories on Sunday at No. 1-3 singles. Gogalija was a winner as well in doubles play with her teammate Taylor Galya.

Ferrell, the 49th ranked player in Division II, easily handled Ola Durzynski in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2 as the Warrior senior improved to 6-1 on the season.

At No. 2 singles, Gogalija also disposed her opponent, Savanna Fuller, 6-2, 6-3. Gogalija is 5-2 on the season and is 3-1 at No. 2.

The third singles win belonged to Ochoa. After a long battle in the first set losing to Kaitlynn Groves 7-6 (11-9), Ochoa rallied back. She tied the match with a 6-4 set two win to force the super-tiebreaker third set. The senior Warrior prevailed with an easy 10-4 win to post the win.

At No. 3 doubles play, Gogalija and Galya beat their opponent Marie Debruyn and Groves, 6-3.

Stanislaus State will be home for all matches next weekend as a part of a six-match homestand.
