SAN MARCOS –Stanislaus State split with Cal State San Marcos on day two of their four-game series. Stan State was able to pull out the first win with a 3-0 win over the Cougars. Unfortunately, the Warriors did not receive the full sweep as they fell to San Marcos in game two, 0-4.
The Warriors are now 12-15 overall and hold a CCAA record of 8-12. Cal State San Marcos is 7-13 overall and 6-12 in conference.
Stanislaus State struggled in game two with no extra base hits and no runs. Despite the tough game two, they won game one with three runs, five hits and two RBI.
Megan Stacy earned another win for herself and is now 3-5. She pitched seven innings and held San Marcos to zero runs and struck out three.
Kyndra Marzorini took the loss in game two pitching five innings.
Melissa Spencer went 2 for 7 on Saturday with one RBI.
Alexus Martinez went 1 for 6 overall with one run.
Aliyah Garvin had a good day going 2 for 6 with one run as well.
Deja Guzman had one RBI in game one and Desiree Gonzales earned the third run of the day.
Caitlin Vinyard earned a win for herself and San Marcos in game two pitching the full game. She held the Warriors to three hits and no runs.
Andrea Wood hit a double and went 2 for 5 with an RBI in game two. Nikki Andelin led the team going 4 for 5 with two runs. Brittney Scardina ran in two and went 2 for 6.
Overall, Stan State went 3-1 with San Marcos over the weekend.
The Warriors will take on Concordia-Irvine tomorrow for a St. Patrick's Day doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
