Warriors Hold No. 1 Concordia-Irvine to Low Scores

IRVINE — The Warriors were swept by Concordia Irvine, the No. 1 team in Division II on Sunday but they were both one-run games. Despite the Eagles being atop of the latest NFCA coaches poll, Stan State held them to very low scores. The first game of the day, the Warriors fell 2-1 and in the nightcap they went 1-0 into extra innings.

Stanislaus State is now 12-17 overall while Concordia-Irvine is 19-3.

Showing their defensive skills and holding the Eagles to three runs, seven hits and two RBI, the Warriors Kylie Ragsdale struck out one in game one and only walked one.

Megan Stacy pitched the full 7.1 innings of the second game and struck out seven. She held the Eagles to three hits and one run.

Aliyah Garvin had one extra base hit and went 2 for 7 on Sunday. Desiree Gonzalez also had an extra base hit and went 2 for 6.

The Warriors had a total of 13 hits, one run, and one RBI. In game two, they had an incredible 13 hits which is only one short of the team's season high.

The second game went into eight innings and ended in the bottom of the eighth when Sarah Kretshmar of CUI singled on a sacrifice bunt and ran their single run in by Sydni Dix.
