Warriors Win One, Lose One against Coyotes

TURLOCK—Stanislaus State split with San Bernardino on day one of four-game series. The Warriors had a tough first game against the Coyotes losing 2-0. As for the second game, they came out strong and won 4-0.
 
The Warriors are now 13-16 overall and 10-6 in conference. The Coyotes are 13-6 overall and 9-13 in conference.
 
Stanislaus State had a total of eight hits, three RBI and one double.  Cal State San Bernardino had a total of 12 hits, two RBI and three extra-base hits.
 
Kyndra Marzorini pitched an excellent game two only allowing five hits. She pitched seven innings and struck out four. The Coyotes had three pitchers enter the game as Stan State was unstoppable in game two. Anissa Padilla took the loss for San Bernardino when she gave up four runs, three hits and walked two.
 
Alexus Martinez went 2 for 5 scoring once and running one batter in. Melissa Spencer went 2 for 7 with two RBI. Kyndra Marzorini had one double in the fourth inning of the second game when she doubled to left center.
 
Stolen bases were no stranger to the Warriors on Saturday afternoon as the team had three in game two. Deja Guzman, Sydnee Machado and Maya Yoshiura all stole bases on Saturday. Kaitlyn Doyle, Machado and Yoshiura were the other three runs along with Martinez for Saturday's doubleheader.
 
On the field, Joerdan Lovell dominated with ten putouts in game one.
 
Morgan Ratliff went 3 for 7 for the Coyotes with one RBI. Jamiana Gateb went 1 for 5 with one run. Dominique Walker also had a run going 1 for 6. Kiana Abellera had one RBI.
 
Despite the Coyotes putting up two tough games, the Warriors came out with one win going into tomorrow's doubleheader.
 
The women will take on the Coyotes tomorrow to finish out the series in their doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
