TURLOCK – The Warriors saw defeat and victory once again. This time around, the team came out strong in the first game and fell short in the nightcap. Stan State lost game two falling short one run, 4-3. They came out of game one victorious with a 7-2 win. Overall, the Warriors split the series against Cal State San Bernardino.
The Warriors are now 14-19 overall and 10-13 in the CCAA. The Coyotes now show a record of 14-7 overall and 11-7 in conference.
The women played a great game one coming out of the fifth inning with six runs before scoring their seventh in the sixth inning. Cal State San Bernardino was held to two runs, six hits and two RBI in that game by pitchers
Megan Stacy and
Kylie Ragsdale.
Megan Stacy earned the win pitching four, allowing four hits and only two earned runs. Ragsdale pitched the last three only allowing two hits.
As for game two,
Kyndra Marzorini received the loss but still had a strong game. She pitched all seven innings walking two, allowing only four hits.
Third baseman,
Sydnee Machado, played great going 2 for 5 with one double and two RBI. She also helped in three outs.
Deja Guzman went 3 for 5 with an RBI and two runs.
Kylie Ragsdale had the most RBI with three and she went 1 for 1.
Aliyah Garvin went 3 for 8 with three runs overall.
Melissa Spencer had one run and went 4 for 8 with and RBI as well.
The Warriors had a total of ten runs, 16 hits and eight RBI.
Stanislaus State played hard out on the field and up at bat as they fought to win game two. Cal State San Bernardino was going to be tough competition coming into the weekend but the Warriors never let the Coyotes too far out of sight.
The Warriors will take on Central Washington at home on Wednesday, at 5 p.m. before entering the weekend with the Tournament of Champions.
