Warriors Fall to Central Washington in Six

TURLOCK –The Warriors took on the Wildcats of Central Washington Wednesday evening falling 2-10 in six innings. This match took place before the busy weekend of the Tournament of Champions where the Warriors will play in five games.
 
With the non-conference loss, the Warriors are now 14-20 overall and the Wildcats will advance to 18-6.
 
Stanislaus State had a rough start being down 6-2 coming out of the second. The Wildcats scored six runs in the top of the second after two extra base hits and a score on a wild pitch.
 
Kyndra Marzorini had a tough game giving up seven runs, six hits and walking four. Kylie Ragsdale entered the game in the middle of the top of the third to try and earn the save but the team had a hard time fighting against Central Washington's pitcher, Samantha Stanfield.
Stanfield only allowed five hits, two runs, walked two and struck out four Warriors.
 
Melissa Spencer and Desiree Gonzalez scored the solo runs of the game and they both went 1 for 2. Spencer scored after Deja Guzman hit a sacrifice bunt earning herself the RBI. In the bottom of the second, Alexus Martinez earned the RBI after she singled through the left side and Gonzalez scored.
 
Central Washington was hot up at bat with four extra base hits on Wednesday. One of which was a homerun by Maddy Zerr. The Wildcats had ten runs, nine hits and nine RBI.
 
The Warriors scored both of their runs before the third inning and the Wildcats went unanswered through the end of the game. Central Washington went on to score three runs in the top of the sixth, ending the game early due to mercy rule.  
 
On Friday, the Warriors will be at home to start off the Tournament of Champions in a game against Northwest Nazarene at 2 p.m. followed by their next game against Azusa Pacific at 4:30 p.m.
