TURLOCK –The Stan State tennis team did a complete sweep on Sunday against American River College. The Warriors dominated every single doubles and singles match winning 7-0.
After having a few losses, the No.1 doubles
Cassidy Ferrell and
Kayla Nguyen were able to get back on their feet with a win of 6-1. No. 2 doubles
Maria Ochoa and
Megan Hagerty beat Abby Garcia and Rebecca Rasmussen, 6-1. At No. 3 doubles,
Amila Gogalija and
Taylor Galya pulled out their second win of the weekend with an unanswered score of 6-0.
Having won the point for the doubles matches, the Warriors went on to play six two-set match wins. No. 49
Cassidy Ferrell beat the No. 1 American River College's Eva Spindler, 6-1, 6-0.
Amila Gogalija got her second singles win of the weekend against Abigail Garcia 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 3 singles,
Maria Ochoa won her eighth consecutive singles match of the season with a 6-1, 6-0 win. Ochoa has not lost a singles match since playing UC San Diego on February 22.
Sylvana Talamantes won 6-1, 6-0 against Danielle Beningfield.
Megan Hagerty got to play in her third singles match of the season winning 6-0, 6-1 and Brianna Hooks was put in for her first match and won in the six spot 6-0, 6-2.
The tennis team will be back home on March 22 to take on Hawaii Hilo at 1 p.m.
