CALIFORNIA—The Warriors won their sixth straight match Sunday after beating Dominican
University and Mills College. The tennis team beat Dominican 4-1 and Mills in an unanswered contest of 7-0.
No. 1 Cassidy Ferrell went 4 for 4 on her matches winning both singles and doubles. She beat Ashley Tesmer of Mills and Kaitlyn Nguyen of Domincan both 6-1, 6-1. Ferrell and her partner Kayla Nguyen won their doubles matches against Domincan, 6-2 and Mills, 6-0.
Against Mills, all matches went unanswered with a 3-0 win for doubles and 7-0 for singles. In the first match of the day against Domincan, No. 5 and No. 6 singles won their matches making the singles win 3-1 and doubles 2-1.
At No. 5 doubles against the Penguins, Sylvana Talamantes beat Nicole Bermudez, 6-0, 7-6 (3). Talamantes swept her matches going 3 for 3 on wins.
At No. 6, Taylor Galya won 6-4, 6-4. Galya won all her matches of the day. She took on Mills No. 3 doubles with her partner, Briana Hooks and they won 6-0.
Megan Hagerty was able to take home two wins against Mills with her singles win of 6-0, 6-0 and doubles win with Maria Ochoa, 6-0. Hagerty went 2 for 3 in her matches Sunday. Maria Ochoa went 2 for 3 as well with one of her matches being unfinished.
Stan State will take on Fresno Pacific on April 5th in Fresno at 3 p.m.
