CHICO—The Stanislaus State softball team split with the Wildcats of Chico state on Friday after winning game one, 5-3, and falling short in the nightcap 1-3. The Warriors are now 18-27 overall and hold an 11-19 CCAA record. The Wildcats are 24-12 overall and 18-10 in conference.
The Warriors had a total of six runs, five RBI and ten hits. The Wildcats had six runs, five RBI and were hot at the plate with 16 hits total. Even though Chico lost game one, they had a total of ten runs.
Kylie Ragsdale earned herself another win on Friday as she pitched all of game one and struck out five. She walked none and still held the Wildcats to three runs, despite their ten hits. Ragsdale is now 6-8.
For game two,
Kyndra Marzorini pitched six innings and struck out five. She allowed two walks and only six hits. Marzorini is now 9-12.
Alexus Martinez went 2 for 6 with two runs and one RBI. She scored the single run in game two after
Deja Guzman singled to shortstop.
Desiree Gonzalez went 2 for 5 with one run. Gonzalez tripled to right field in game one to start the fourth inning.
Deja Guzman went 2 for 5 overall with an RBI.
Aliyah Garvin had a good start to her day going 1 for 3 with one run and two RBI in game one.
Kaitlyn Doyle and
Melissa Spencer both had stolen bases.
For the Wildcats, Kristin Worley had a perfect game one going 4 for 4 with one run. She went 1 for 4 in game two. Reilani Peleti went 2 for 5 overall. Naomi Monahan earned the win in game two pitching the full game and striking out four.
The Warriors will play two more games against the Wildcats on Saturday at noon.
